Calisthenics training generally consists of a variety of body weight exercises designed to increase strength, fitness and flexibility through movements such as pulling or pushing yourself up, bending, jumping, or swinging, using body weight for resistance.
During our beginner classes we will take look at all the fundamental exercises and strength needed to enter the world of calisthenics. Emphasis is given to technique on key exercises such as squats, push-ups and pull-ups to build your base strength and progress you to more advance exercises safely.
Through calisthenics you will not only have the opportunity to increase strength and flexibility but also your coordination and control.
Class prerequisites:
participants should
- Have some training/sport experience.
- Be able to endure 5-10 mins of moderate cardiovascular exercise.
- Complete at least 5 knee push ups with reasonable form.
- Be free from clinical injury.
- Possess the mobility required in order to perform exercises correctly.
